Description
Singer Castle is one of the many landmarks in New York's 1000 Islands. The amazing 4-story building was constructed on Dark Island from 1902 to 1905 as an island hunting lodge by self-made millionaire Frederick Gilbert Bourne. The castle, originally as "The Towers," was intended to be a surprise for Bourne's wife and children. It cost $500,000.
